Facebook ads new slideshow option to stories to boost usage.

Facebook has rolled out a new Stories option in an effort to get more people using Facebook stories. The new option, which will enable users to add a still image slideshow to their story, is a simplified way to add a stream of images, which will play out through your Story frames. You can do this already, by selecting each image individually for each frame, but this option will make this action easier, which could prompt more people to try it out for themselves.

Facebook reminds advertisers that new targeting restrictions will come into effect soon.

In March Facebook announced that it would take a stronger stand against discriminatory ad targeting by removing a large range of options for targeting in certain categories. Google announced Monday that they will be doing away with the average position metric the week of September 30. Why does this matter to us? This gives digital marketing professionals and business owners about 6 weeks to prepare for the change and implement any updates to reporting that use average position. With the average position metric being removed, Google says advertisers should transition to using the position metrics, search absolute top impression rate and search top impression rate, that were introduced last year.

Instagram launches a new option for reporting misinformation.

In the latest of Facebook’s broader efforts to slow the spread of misleading content across all of its platforms, Instagram is testing a new option which will allow users to report false information on the platform itself. When you tap the three dots at the top right of a post and you select ‘Report’, you have two options - ‘It’s Spam’ or ‘It’s Inappropriate’. If you select ‘It’s Inappropriate’, you will be taken to a separate reporting section where ‘False Information’ will now be an option.
